Mir and the Statue of Liberty
Space Station Mir represents the statue that inspired peace and unity
between two extremely powerful nations. During the cold war era, when Russian Cosmonauts
invited American Astronauts to Space Station Mir, they gazed downward
upon our beautiful planet Earth, and wondered "Why are we fighting?"
Mir helped thaw the chilled relations between two heavily armed and dangerous
super powers.
"Like the lady carrying the shining torch, leading the way to freedom, Mir
helped to lead Russia out of the Communist Era, and into the new free
world. Mir symbolizes so much more than freedom, Mir signifies
Peace, and the sharing of technology amongst mankind." -

Imagine how Americans
would feel if the Statue of Liberty was destroyed to make room for a new
building! |
The State of Peace

|
Space Station Mir, a symbol that commemorates the melting of the Cold
War, peace between Russia and America,
and the new free world, is about to be destroyed. If plans for the great
space station's destruction move forward, the peaceful gesture that Mir
symbolizes, will
fade into oblivion, lost for future generations...abandoned to
"make room" for financing a newer project. Why destroy Mir, when outer space offers plenty of room for both
Mir and the new International Space Station to thrive side by side, especially when Mir can now
become the center of The Next Internet™.
